Simon Snaize: News
Live Performance - 27 April 2008
I have taken a hiatus from gigging since the end of last year, but with Spring in the air i feel it is time to be out and about. I will be playing this friday (2nd may) at The City Screen Basement Bar in York with Dave keegan. We will be playing tracks from our album Portmanteau, and some old tunes. It starts at 8:30 and is £5 on the door.
Come on down!
Holy Crap! - 14 April 2008
Good Lord. It has been longer than I really care to think about since I added any tasty tidbits of information for all you scrabbling out there in the cyber soup eagerly awaiting news of my exciting life.
I have been working on a new album with long time collaborator and close friend David TM Keegan. The album, which is on its way to being finished as we speak is tentatively titled Portmanteau, and features 14 tracks. There are an equal share of songs, and there is also our first collaboration in our musical history together. I will post several songs onto the music page for you to have a gander at in their demo form.
ENJOY!
My-My-My! My MySpace Page! - 7 July 2007
Even though I have very little love for Rupert Murdoch, my ideals have been weighed up against my professional concerns, and after due consideration I have added to the heaving surfeit of musicans, scrabbling, eye-poking, and flesh-gouging their way to the top of the slippery pyramid that is MySpace. Check out my rather dandy-spanky page:

The ever evolving Hazzard County - 21 June 2007
Anyone who is familiar with the ins and outs of the White Swan ensconced band Hazzard County will know that they have changed their line-up more times than an incontinent man with terrible nerves changes his pants. Shock! Horror! It is happening again. I have been in and out of this band ever since its inception in the mid 90's and I plan to join another founder member -Dave Keegan - in reviving the band to fill in for the regular line-up who unfortunately will be absent for some of the gigs this year. It will be a change of personnel and instrumentation. We are hoping to see Upright bass and Fiddle in this particular line-up harking back to the early days of the band where there was a lot of shit being kicked and much hoe-downing and marrying of one's mother going on. The band will be showcasing on June 29th and will be playing a few gigs per month from then on. I have posted the dates on another entry.
Back in the UK..GB..NY.. York - 21 June 2007
It's good to be back. After spending the last five years jetting between York, Boston, MA and Santa Fe, NM, I am finally back on English shores permanently with lovely wife in tow. Yey! (Too much American).
I have been working on a band project for a wee while now called Sunshine Fiasco. It has a fluctuating line-up with various local musicians taking part, but currently has myself on guitar and vocals, and my good friend Dan Hull on Upright bass and vox. We are working on a full length album as we speak and with steely determination we intend to finish it before we die or the world ends. If the Mayan Calendar is anything to go by we have a few more years.
The site has been woefully neglected in the last... well ,year actually, and I hope to give it a little more time and attention. I feel guilty. It's like leaving a child alone with a box of matches. I feared that I would come back to find the poor thing in cinders. Phished or just forgotten in the cyber soup of the internet. Anyway, I fully intend to keep this puppy a little more updated now.
We'll see.....
